Our unconscious mind is amazing! Research shows it can process significantly more information than our conscious minds by using cognitive shortcuts based on our environment, personal experiences and education. These shortcuts create blind spots - also referred to as unconscious biases - which are the patterns our brains develop based on our experiences. These blind spots influence how we understand the world, interact with others, make decisions... Once we are aware of our potential blind spots, we can make better choices that promote inclusion in our behaviours and decisions.
This training is an opportunity to raise your self-awareness and develop strategies on how to better recognise and manage unconscious biases.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the potential impact of blind spots on their behaviours and decisions;
- Discuss strategies to identify and manage their blind spots;
- Commit to actions that promote inclusivity in their behaviours and decisions.
